I've worn a bunch of different Carhartt jackets over the years. This is one of the workhorse models. It's been around forever and it is very reasonably priced. It's also rugged as hell and will last forever. There are a couple of important things to note about them, however.

1) Unlike other Carhartt jackets, these jackets SHRINK A LOT! Make sure you get yours at least 1 or preferrably 2 sizes large. It may sound extreme but these jackets really do shrink - which is weird considering their other jackets don't shrink much, if at all.

2) The sizes run a little bit smaller than other Carhartt jackets. Considering it is supposed to stop at your waste (to allow easy bending/moving at work) it is important to take this into consideration when buying this specific coat.

I found this in a nearby store, and I love it. It is very warm and keeps me snug and dry unless I'm out in 20 degree-or-below snowy weather for very long. I live in Chicago and this is usually enough in the winter, but colder climates might want to add another layer below. I spray it with water repellant and it stays dry in the inner layers. I was not in favor of the rough lining, and washing it leaves it covered in lint, but it is a very warm lining material so just launder it carefully. Very tough and durable outside, thick and dense amd very warm inside. More than worth the price. This and the Carharrt winter ear-flap ballcap (check the Carhartt site) are my standard winter wear. Also - it has a nice, roomy inside pocket with a zipper, and the front breast pocket with zipper, which hold my phone and wallet securely.

Great coat at a really good price, they even delivered fast over the holiday's with just std shipping. I'll shop from these people again without much question.
