Product Review

With its rugged, military-inspired styling, Carhartt's Series 1889(R) jacket is ready for duty on weekends, as well as for work. Made of durable 12-ounce, 100% cotton washed duck, it features a cotton flannel upper lining. The army look is accented with epaulettes plus an antique-finish brass front zipper with flat-black zipper pulls. There are two chest pockets with snap closures, and two lower-front pockets with snap closures. The jacket's slimmer fit is enhanced with an inside draw cord at waist, as well as hook-and-loop adjustable cuffs. Main seams are triple stitched for strength.

Good durable outer layer, convenient pockets. I live in a mild climate and this unlined, for me combining with layers properly this will stretch 3 seasons of use.

I am very hard on my clothing and this seems like it will last a long time. 12oz canvas is work wear thick, without being work wear looking.

Heavy and large glove friendly YKK zippers, one standard and one that allows you to unzip from the bottom up. This jacket is somewhat long and the extra zipper makes it so you can sit down, ride a bike, etc.

Excellent wind, abrasion, weather protection, but not much warmth, and practical design. I really like this jacket, and I hope it lasts several years.

One issue though... I was hoping it was made in the USA, it is not, I was sad to see "Made in China" in the tag.

The quality is American, just not the origin.
