5.0 out of 5 stars Durable work coat, June 7, 2006
I have had this coat for quite sometime, years that is. It's in the green (spruce) color and has held up well to me. It survived 5 years on an industrial construction project in rain, sleet, snow, wind, against not only the elemnts but welding, carpentry, conrete finishing and placement, pipe fitting, and countless othe activities. The sleeve edges and bottom edge of the coat has started to fray, but I am still extremely happy with it, well worth the money I spent. Now that my job is supervision, I mainly use it for hunting and hiking, and it has with stood that great. comfortable, flexible, and handles most weather. it is not water proof, but it does take some time before the rain gets through the outside and then the lining. If you work in the elements and need a coat that you can really work in this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some things never change......, December 13, 2008

I still wear my 10 year old Carhartt to work- its a great jacket, but I wanted something newer to wear for casual non-work activities. I saw this and thought that I would need to order the XL tall (since it seems like everyone these days is using shorter mannequins ! ) I tried on the regular XL and the fit was perfect and plenty roomy for my 6-1 large frame, long arm body. While I wish that their products were still US made, this coat looks as well made as any of the numerous Carhartt products that I've owned in the past. I love the ribbed cuffs that are hidden-they keep the chill out, but the soft material is under the outer shell, where its less likely to get torn. Nice heavy zipper, big front pockets and a few smaller ones too. Nice job Carhartt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best coat I have ever owned, April 20, 2010

This review is from: Carhartt Men's Sherpa Lined Sandstone Ridge Coat (Apparel)
I bought this coat this past January for a winter tent camping trip and it worked great. It kept me warm in the 20 degree weather day and night. It really cuts the wind too, even though it is fairly thin. The double zipper and adjustable cinching around the waist are great features to have. It is very durable and rugged; i am very satisfied. If this workhorse ever quits i will be sure to buy another.
