I bought this jacket to replace the fleece one that came with my interchangeable parka. So far though, I haven't had to use it because the winter has been quite mild. I have used it in 30 degree weather and it is quite warm. The shiny omni-heat lining really does work. It is surprising how lightweight this jacket is given how warm it is.
