This is a great item-lots of pockets, nice material, vented so it's not too hot. More pockets than I need but the ones that are there are well-placed. It's more stylishly cut than many other similar ones I have looked at. It comes in handy when flying-I can put all my gear in the pockets and just take it off and put it through security. I highly recommend this vest. Fits to size.

I ordered this vest from Amazon at the same time I ordered a similar vest from Travel Smith. Just could not determine from the online photos which vest I would prefer. The two vests were very similar but in the end, I gave the nod to the Columbia Vest. I like the looks of the vest, it has more than enough pockets inside and out. Some zip open and close, some snap, some velcro. It is a versatile vest and I intend to use it primarily for travel. It is exactly what I wanted. Very pleased and would highly receommend this vest to anyone. I returned the Travel Smith vest.

I was concerned about being vulnerable to skilled pick pockets while visiting the usual spots in Italy. The zippered pockets, outside and inside the vest are very secure. The cargo capacity of the vest is particularly convenient when clearing airport security. Keep all your necessaries (passport, boarding passes, money, sunglasses, cap, etc... in the vest and Just drop it into the container. Comfort: I wore the vest daily from about 8 A.M. until 9 P.M. in temperatures ranging from50 degrees to 80 degrees. Although I was warm in that 80 degree heat, the slight discomfort was off set by the security offered when wearing the vest. Another positive is the "true" fit. A size large fits a 41/42 very nicely.

Why did I not give the vest a 5? I would have liked a pen slot in one of the top pockets and a loop like the old vests had that allowed me to have the vest unbutton/unzipped but held together at mid height. In addition, I did add more velcro strips to the top and...Read more
