Good water protection. They didn't offer an option in these pants in terms of "short" or "tall" lengths. They are a tall fit. I usually wear 34/30 pants. I ordered these pants in large. The waist fit is great but they are probably a 34 length. A bit shorter would be ideal. It would be best if they offered short and tall options. large is your size if you wear 34/34 pants.

The Columbia Thunderstorm II pant is an acceptable waterproof, breathable pant available at a modest price. Yet, it has a couple of design elements that may not be appealing to some individuals. Specifically, the pant is oversized with large boot-cut bottoms that make the pant more suitable as a second layer. Additionally, instead of pockets, there are two slits that expose what is beneath (e.g. skin) to the elements. Hence, the product NOT really designed for bicycling unless the rider has cycling shorts underneath and ankle bands.

Considering that a breathable, waterproof pant can cost several hundred dollars, a reviewer must take the modest price of this pant into account. Yet, two of the somewhat undesirable design elements have little to do with the cost. The pant legs bottoms are very large, perhaps designed for large winter boots or even ski boots. Light-weight and relatively inexpensive product. I bought these in one size larger in order to fit over my regular pants. Might need a slight alteration to adjust the length, but otherwise these definitely work well.
