I actually have the brown tight tweed pattern version with black inserts down the body sides. First off, this is not only a very sharp looking jacket in all of the colors and patterns offered, the brush protection material is very durable. Before even getting into the tree branches, you can simply feel the strength quality of this material as being quite tough. It is more of a thick shell instead of a insulated jacket and it has outstanding wind stop ability. And yes, it is VERY waterproof as I learned a few days ago in a massive cold weather down pour. It is not super warm but it is easily made so with a sweater. The sleeve ends do not have any type of wind stop or tight sock material inside the cuffs but the Velcro adjustment is very long and will not leave a big flap hanging when you cinch it down tight around your wrists.
