After one winter of use, the lining has come apart in 3 different spots. While I was disappointed, I thought this is a London Fog, I bet they have great customer service, right? Think again. Visit londonfog.com and you will see it is one big marketing site with zero info on customer service or warranty/guarantee. Not even a phone number or address, simply info on their ad campaign with Mad Men. So this is the last London Fog I buy, they are no longer the company they used to be, they are simply a marketing company that sells poor quality products. I would rather be on the phone with them getting this coat fixed rather than writing a negative review, but since I can't get this taken care of, I would at least like to let others know to exercise caution. 22 of 27 people found the following review helpful: By Lucis Ferre "Lucis Ferre" (New York, NY) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: London Fog Men's 38" Wool Top Coat (Apparel) This coat is light and stylish but the material is coarse and feels like fine sandpaper. It attracts lint. I think I paid too much for this lower quality product.
UPDATED 1/30/10 This coat is now being sold for $105. I paid $140 only a month ago. Now I know I definately paid too much! This coat can't stand up to temperature below 40 degrees. It's not thick enough. This was a waste of my hard earned money! 4 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: London Fog Men's 38" Wool Top Coat (Apparel) This is nicely priced coat and does what it's designed to do. I don't agree with other reviewer that the coat is too thin. Thickness is similar to other coats sold in department stores. Its thickness is similar to Lauren (by Ralph Lauren) coats found at Macy's. I have tried other brands (J. Crew, Kenneth Cole, Lauren, etc.) of coats in Macy's, and this coat is very similar to those. The material is also comparable to other coats as well. Yes, I agree it doesn't feel as soft as $700 cashmere coat, but hey you get what you pay for. This coat definely is a buy at $105. |
