This jacket serves the purpose I was looking for perfectly. It is a smart looking versatile jacket (3 in 1) that is hip length and can be worn to work where the dress code is business casual. I got mine in black and am glad to have selected that color. I had seen and tried on a gray one at the local REI store. It is not cheap but that is to be expected with a brand like Patagonia and considering how versatile it is - you are getting 3 jackets.
